Family policies
What families ask us before a child starts.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home and returns after being well for a full day. If a child becomes ill at school, we call you right away and ask you to come promptly. A teacher stays with the child until you arrive.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher hands each child to an adult on the pickup list you give us, and we ask for ID at the side door until we know you. Tell us ahead of time when someone new is coming.
Late pickup
Mornings end at 12:00 or 12:30 p.m., depending on your schedule, and the school day at 3:00 p.m. If you are running late, call or text the preschool so a teacher can stay with your child. The enrollment agreement says what follows when it happens often.
Meals, snacks and allergies
The school serves a simple morning snack, and families send lunch for the school day with a water bottle. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask privately once you enroll. We ask families not to send nuts.
What to wear and bring
Send clothes your child can manage alone and that can get dirty, shoes that stay on for the playground and a spare set of clothes in a bag with your child's first name.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for the church's Christmas break and for spring break, and we share the year's closures at the parent evening in August. If weather closes the school, we text and email families early in the morning.
Screens and phones
There are no screens in the rooms. We ask families to keep phones away at drop-off and pickup, so the side door stays calm for the children.
