A day at Pawpaw
A morning, and what the school day adds
The mornings follow one rhythm in every room, and the school day adds lunch, rest and a quiet afternoon.

Step 1: Arrival and free play
A teacher meets each child at the side door. Children hang up their coats and choose blocks, the kitchen or a book.
- 9:00
Step 2: Circle, a story and a prayer
We sing a welcome, hear a Bible story and say a short prayer. The fours room adds the verse of the week.

Step 3: Snack and a blessing
Children wash their hands, say the blessing together and have a simple snack at a low table.
- 10:15
Step 4: Centers and art
Children choose among art, play dough, blocks and a quiet table, with a teacher at each.
- 11:15
Step 5: The playground
Outdoor play with a teacher counting heads on the way out and on the way in.
- 12:00
Step 6: Songs and pickup
A story and songs close the morning, and a teacher hands each child to an adult on your list when the morning ends.

Step 7: Lunch and rest, on the school day
Lunch from home, then rest time in the twos room and quiet activities in the threes and fours rooms.

Step 8: An afternoon, then pickup at 3:00
